Character Creation for Collectibles with Spicer McLeroy

A lot of character artists sculpt just what they see on their reference and try to replicate it. In this course you will dive deeper into the understanding of the skull and skeleton. You will develop the knowledge and confidence to hit your landmarks and proportions, separating you further from the rest. No more guessing and shadow sculpting. After we have our new anatomy knowledge, we will move onto posing our character. Focusing on movement, balance and directing the eye of the viewer to provide the best impact.

We will be creating props, clothing, armor and base to complete our collectible. Then we can start exporting our assets into Substance Painter. Then we will apply the fine details and believable surface textures to take your sculpt to the next level. After this, we take a quick look at setting up a render in Zbrush, Keyshot, and Marmoset. Giving you the versatility, you need to present your collectible in your portfolio or to a client for approvals.

AAA Salon: Game Hair Creation with Ashley Sparling

In this course, Ashley will take you through an easy method of creating game ready hair that can be used for your personal projects or a professional work place.

This course is aimed to give you the knowledge and the hair salon CG tools to aid you in creating stunning looking hair for AAA game, using techniques that can be used in a working environment and for portfolios.

Game Character Creation with Adrian Martuneac

In this 10 week course Adrian will take you through the entire process of making a humanoid game ready character from scratch.

You will start with some basic design rules and gathering references to help you sketch your character in your favorite 2D program or in the one suggested for this course ( Clip Studio Paint ) or you could find a good concept, for this you will be provided a template with good proportions that will fit the rest of the process.

Next you will learn a solid workflow in ZBrush and provide a 3D template for correct proportions to model the high poly version of the character.

We will retopologize, UV and texture the model in 3D coat after which we'll take it it Maya where we will rig and skin the character on the provided skeleton.

By the end of this course you will have a solid understanding of the character creation pipeline and a great portfolio piece to show to potential employers or you could use the skill set you just learned on your own projects.

Moving Between Dimensions: Toy Manufacturing 3D Printing Pipeline

In this amazing course, we will be going over how to prepare models for FDM and SLA printers, different production lines and things you never thought would matter. Going over the setup for statues, props and articulation for your 3D prints. Eric will show you what it takes and how preparation can save you time and money moving forward with the collectibles industry.

What does it take to go from digital to a printed part? This course will dive deep into the two more common printing methods. I will show you how to prepare your models for printing and production. You will also learn what you should look for to make the printing method flow with the least amount of difficulty. Plus, I will show you how to overcome the limitations of printers and software.
